Video: Thailand Solo
Posted on 24 May 2017
I had been itching to travel to Thailand for a while but had never followed up. This was partially because the timing wasn't right and partially because I couldn't find anyone to go with me. It's always very easy to find a reason not go for it.
One day I realized it had been over a year since I had begun fantasizing about Thailand. Things had been so hectic at work I had completely lost track of the time. I knew life would pass me by if I wasn't careful. I found some time in my schedule in January, and while I couldn't find a travel companion, I decided I could go it alone.
I am an outgoing guy but the thought of traveling to the other side of the globe without knowing a soul was still a little nerve racking. However, once I arrived I found it almost impossible not to meet other like minded travelers. Planned activities and common rooms in hostels made breaking the ice easy. Once, I showed up to a restaurant to eat alone only to have some young Australians beckon me over to their table to join them.
This video is a snapshot of my adventures. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life and it is safe to say I found my inner Mana Loa. I hope you enjoy it and decide to join me in my search for the Great Power!
